Leave a legacy
Leaving a legacy to Clover House will enable us to continue our work helping troubled children move towards a much brighter future, rather than carry their troubles into adolescence and adulthood.
It will enable you to remember those causes which have been important to you in your life and ensure that your charitable whishes are honoured after your death.
You can, of course, leave a legacy for a specific purpose such as carrying out treatments, or you can make a general bequest towards the future work of Clover House. Either way, you can be totally reasurred that the trustees will use your legacy for the benefit of suffering children and families.
Inheritance Tax
Clover House is a registered charity. Therefore, any bequests, whether of money, shares, property or the residue of an estate, are exempt from UK inheritance tax. Please speak to your solicitor about this.
Making a bequest
There are 4 main types of bequest:

A pecuniary bequest of a specified sum of money

A specific bequest - such as jewellery, land, shares etc

A residuary bequest is a gift of the residue of an estate after other bequests have been met. A residuary bequest can be divided between several people or charities.

A reversionary gift is one that allows named persons to benefit from assets during their lifetimes, after which the assets are transferred to the ultimate beneficiary
A bequest to Clover House is very easy to do: you simply add a codicil to an existing will. If you have not got a will then you should consult a solicitor or other professional adviser. I any event we would strongly recommend that you obtain professional advice relevant to your circumstances.
If we are informed of intended bequests we can express gratitude to donors during their lifetime.
