Letter from Rachel’s Mum
I found an article in the evening post about Clover House and decided to contact them to see if they could help my daughter. Rachel had problems with aggressive behaviour, could not concentrate for very long, took along time to go to sleep at night, awoke during the night and she was always on the go. We had already cut out many additives and found food colourings made Rachel aggressive.
We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and they were all very friendly and also put Rachel at ease.
We saw the nutrition therapist and Rachel was put on vitamins and zinc supplements. We were given some additive free recipes and advised to give Rachel porridge for supper. We also tried alternatives to cows milk, Soya, oat and rice milk. Rachel did not like the milk to drink but had it on cereal.
Rachel loved massage and nearly fell asleep the first time. I had never seen her so relaxed. I gave her a massage every night before she went to sleep and with in a few days she was sleeping right through the night and going to sleep earlier. We now massage her when we feel she needs it or when she asks for one.
The Imagery also helped her to get off to sleep. Because of her aggressive behaviour Rachel had few friends at school and, but after a couple of visits to Clover House she was now making friends.
Rachel on the whole is now calmer, her concentration is better; she still sleeps through the night and now has better quality of sleep. Rachel has made friends at school and loves school. I only have a problem with her behaviour now if she is allowed to get to tired. Before visiting Clover House I could not reason with Rachel, now I can reason with her most of the time. Life is now less stressful. I have told friends and other mums at school about Clover House.
