LOCAL CHARITY SHORTLISTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
Clover House Therapy, a children’s Charity based at Saltford, has been shortlisted from 700 entries nationwide as a finalist for The Guardian Charity Awards 2004. The Awards were set up to recognise small to medium charities that are making an outstanding contribution to social welfare at the grassroots.
“When people think of charities, they tend to think of the big names”, says Chair of Judges, David Brindle, “The Awards offer a leg-up to organisations that are delivering practical solutions to present day problems”.
Clover House Therapy was pioneered in Bristol, and offers natural healing to free children from emotional, behavioural and physical problems. It has proved effective for hundreds of local youngsters in the last eight years. The Therapy, which is a synergy of Aromatherapy, Nutrition and Creative Imagery, has helped children who have previously failed to respond to conventional treatments. In 67% of cases dealt with in the past year the child was healed in just 3 treatment sessions. The Clinic has a 96% overall success rate.
“We see children suffering from many different problems,” said Jill Gill, Practise Manager. “ Among recent successes are a child terrified to go to school after being subjected to Bullying. Another had been barred from school because of his aggressive behaviour. We have been very successful, too, with children suffering Asthma, Chronic Constipation, ADHD and Asperger’s Syndrome”.
Clover House is optimistic that their pioneering work will win the approval of the Judges. Rita Marshall, spokesperson for Clover House says, “ Winning this Award will bring us much needed funding. However, the prestige of the Award and the resultant publicity will bring attention to the effectiveness of Clover House Therapy and how quickly and easily it can offer these children a better future.”
