What to expect

What to expect during a Nutritional Therapy Session

Philippa will assess your child’s food diary and ask you both about the problem or condition you are experiencing. She will ask your child (or you, depending on their age) about their current eating habits, their daily timetable, where and when they eat and how much time they have for mealtimes, and any hobbies and sporting interests they have. Also taken into account is the family situation e.g. siblings, child-care arrangements,
recreational activities and the divorced/separated parental situation, if relevant. She may ask you to score your concerns out of ten so that we can monitor your progress over the following sessions.

She will spend some time explaining the effect that the foods your child eats have on his/her body and mind and how making even small changes can help them feel better. Her aim is to motivate and encourage your child to try new things and make healthier food choices, while respecting your lifestyle and family arrangements.

All subsequent sessions last for about 30-40 minutes and give you the opportunity to discuss your progress, the successes you’ve had and any challenges you’ve faced. Each session is supported by a written summary sheet and nutritional handouts.
