During the year a highly professional DVD was produced which illustrates the application of the three therapies promoted by Clover House to children with varying needs and how they successfully responded to their treatment. A great thank you to all involved in the production of the DVD.
A launch for the DVD took place at Saltford Golf Club on 22nd November 2006, which was introduced by Radio Bristol Celebrity, Trevor Fry. Existing and potential Benefactors, the Press and the Public were invited to the launch and the feedback received from some of those attending was very positive. The success is down to the hard work of Diane Shelly and her Team who produced the DVD, (Heritage Television), Jill Gill, Shelly Seward (a supportive parent) and Jackie Marsh one of the Trustees. It turned out to be an appropriate occasion to celebrate the Charity’s 10th Anniversary.
Regrettably, our approaches for funding to the National Lottery, Children in Need and Comic Relief, all came back negative, but it is hoped that we will succeed in the future.
In conjunction with the DVD, an up to date booklet has also been published, summarising the treatments available at Clover House and their applicability to difficulties encountered by some children. Both the DVD and Booklet are now available to pass on to potential benefactors, parents, professional advisers etc. As a result of both publications, we are now able to ‘spread the word’ about Clover House with confidence and support.
It has become clear that we need to bring in a lot more funding in order to be able to promote Clover House Therapy, both locally and nationally. This can only be achieved by employing more staff to lighten the load of our Practice Manager and Founder, Jill Gill, as far as administration and marketing is concerned. It was agreed by the Trustees that part-time office staff would be recruited and then we should go ahead with obtaining a permanent fundraiser.
The website has been adapted and updated and now contains a shortened 20 minute version of the DVD.
Assistance in examining the existing operating methods and future goals of Clover House is being sought from the Cranfield Trust, who are conducting a strategy review with suggestions for possible models for expansion and we are looking forward to an exciting 12 months ahead.
